Club to Run Forest Holidays Campsites

(PRWeb UK) March 11, 2010

The Camping and Caravanning Club has reached an agreement with Forest Holidays to manage its campsites from 2011. The Club, which already has 110 Club Sites and almost half-a-million members, will be responsible for running the entire site operations, including reservations.

Forest Holidays currently has 20 picturesque caravan and camping sites on Forestry Commission land in England, Scotland and Wales.

The Club, which holds a majority stake in Forest Holidays in a partnership with the Forestry Commission, has encouraged the company to independently develop both its holiday cabins and campsite businesses.

Director General Robert Louden said: We believe the time is now right for the Club to manage the campsites, which will leave the Forest Holidays team free to concentrate on its rapidly expanding holiday cabin business.

As part of the agreement, all campsites will retain the Forest Holidays identity.

Louden added: We have witnessed fantastic growth in both sides of the Forest Holiday business so it makes sense for The Club to lend its expertise in running campsites while development takes place in the cabin business.

Gary Fletcher, CEO for Forest Holidays, added: The Forest Holidays Board has agreed that the time is now right to focus and resource the Cabin business for future growth.

We have exciting and innovative development plans ahead including the opening of our largest cabin site to date at the Forest of Dean and we are confident that with The Clubs expertise the camping business will continue to be equally successful in the future.
